  • Dr. Melita Petrossian

    DescriptionDr. Melita Petrossian is a fellowship-trained neurologist and movement disorders specialist and is the Director of the Pacific Movement Disorders Center located at Providence Saint John’s Health Center.

    Dr. Petrossian’s clinical interests and expertise are in movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), tremor including essential tremor, dystonia, gait disorders, ataxia, myoclonus, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, Meige syndrome, spasticity, tics and Tourette’s syndrome. She also specializes in Parkinson’s-related conditions such as Dementia with Lewy Bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple system atrophy, corticobasal degeneration, primary freezing of gait, and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia.

    Dr. Petrossian’s focus is on a multidisciplinary approach to these movement disorders, including appropriate diagnosis utilizing the latest imaging techniques such as MRI, PET and DaTscan, optimization of medical treatment, and chemodenervation using botulinum toxin injections (e.g., Botox). In coordination with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists as necessary she treats motor and non-motor symptoms of PD and other movement disorders. In addition, Dr. Petrossian serves as principal investigator for clinical trials seeking to improve treatment of essential tremor, PD, and dementia with Lewy bodies.

    A native of southern California, Dr. Petrossian graduated from UCLA, summa cum laude, and received her medical education at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She completed her neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston, followed by fellowship in movement disorders at the same institutions. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and Movement Disorders Society (MDS).

    Ryan Glatt is a Neuroscience, Health & Fitness Professional and Researcher and a Certified Brain Health Coach and Program Director and the Pacific Brain Health Center where he leads our PPG Therapy pilot program. He is also a lead program advisor for the PPG Fitness for PD test group. He has completed the APDA Parkinson's Training program in 2020 , a MSc of Applied Neuroscience at the King's College of London in 2021, and currently enrolled in a PhD program for Concordia of Chicago.

    Experienced in and passionate about developing and providing innovative physical therapy interventions for patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Excels in treating neurodegenerative diseases, geriatric gait and balance deficits, as well as high-level sports and orthopedic pathologies.

    Professional table tennis coach with a BS in Physical Education and Sports Kinesiology and Experience Science has begun training with Ryan Glatt beginning December of 2021 and will continue to do so leading up to the official launch of the program.

  • Luba Sadovska | ITTF PTT Level 1 Certified Table Tennis Coach, Coach Developer, Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator

    Luba Sadovska started playing Table Tennis at the age of 8 in small town in Czechoslovakia and made it to Junior National team. Still active player and competitor, but her passion is in coaching and teaching table tennis to all people regardless of their age and ability. She is Table Tennis Canada’s Master Coach Developer and International ITTF PTT Level 1certified coach.

    She has a wide range of experience within Table Tennis; from competing, coaching individual player and group development, teaching physical literacy in schools with “Table Tennis in schools program” , inclusion and disability coaching with “Happy Hands Adapted Table Tennis Program”, a coach, educator and recently her work took her to Denmark to work as a head coach at PARKINSONS TABLE TENNIS CAMP, Bornholm

    Sports and fitness have always been at the center of Bernard’s life, which began with fifteen years of amateur and professional hockey training with Canada’s top coaches. His desire to help other young up-and-coming hockey players excel was the turning point of his career. His devotion to the sport of hockey motivated him to pursue a career as a trainer and a coach at one of Canada’s top internationally renowned training camps. His experience with aerobic, anaerobic, and strength training allowed him to develop a successful training formula for athletes of all ability levels.
